Safe, secure and affordable housing is foundational to meeting our human need for shelter. Despite our differences, this need for shelter is one that every human being shares. Meeting this need effectively and equitably is both the cornerstone and the hallmark of thriving, stable, and resilient communities. During the Building Hope Weekend, participants will work on housing projects identified by local housing partners, to provide a safe and healthy home environment for rural residents.

Spring Celebration Saturday, May 6, 2023 featuring Rev. Laura Ayala
"If we care about bibilical injustice, or even if we merely empathize with the unjust suffering of marginalized people, it is easy to feel discouraged - even despairing. If we care about the unity of the church and healthy democracy, the enormous divides in our society also can lead to depression and..."
This 6 week book club led by Rick Burnette, CBF Field Personnel, and Ellen Burnette of Cultivate Abundance digs deeply into why Rick and Ellen work so hard to eliminate food insecurity in the Immokalee Farm worker community right here in Florida. Did you know the average life span of a migrant worker is 49 compared to 77.2 years for most Americans? Join this study to learn more and help improve the lives of the people who pick the food we eat.
There are five generations worshiping in our churches right now. Three were born before the internet existed and two are digital natives. They all think about, spend, and give money in incredibly different ways. We’re also on the cusp of seeing the largest transfer of wealth in human history—$18 billion from Boomers to Millennials over the next few decades. This three-part course is designed to help churches plan for the future by better understanding how and why each of these generations gives. It will teach you how to communicate about giving and generosity more effectively, and spur creative thinking around the giving tools we make available to them.

CBF General Assembly returns in-person this year to Dallas, Texas!
You’re invited to join your CBF family at the Hyatt Regency Dallas Hotel for a week of learning, worship, inspiration and fellowship. Don’t worry, though, if you’re not able to make it to Dallas. We’re planning a virtual Assembly experience to complement the in-person Assembly experience.

“The Fellowship of the Dream”
In this hope we are not disappointed
At Church on the Drive
(1914 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, Florida)
The E. Glenn Hinson Lecture Series honors the life and work of Dr. E. Glenn Hinson by inviting lecturers who share his passion for Christian scholarship in and for the life of the church and the world.
Many Americans revere Dr. King for his famous "I Have a Dream" speech delivered in 1963. Dr. King had a dream, but what many do not know is that he confessed that his dream became a nightmare. Since America, including its churches, accepted the caricature of King as a dreamer, instead of interrogating the forces that killed his dream, our nation has pursued the path of chaos that currently engulfs this nation, affecting even our churches.
Join Christen Kinard of Digital Congregations and Jonathan Boggs of Parable Media in this three-part training on how to use ProPresenter 7.
Spend a couple of days at the serene campus of the San Pedro Spiritual Development Center along the shore of Lake Howell in Winter Park on November 11 and 12. Join your friends as we relax, fellowship and have a conversation (or two) with Brian McLaren about his newest book, Faith After Doubt. We’ll also have our hearts and minds stirred by the preaching of Meredith Stone and the musical talents of Francis Angalla.
Breathe is designed to nurture your soul, encourage renewal for your body and spirit, and to spend time with God who knows you and loves you. This event is co-hosted by Alabama CBF, CBF Florida, and CBF Georgia for all women in our CBF churches.

The 2021 Florida Clergy Convening will be held virtually on Thursday, September 16 from 9:30 AM 0 12:00 PM. The event is hosted by the Florida Council of Churches and presented by Pastors for Florida Children. The theme for this year's convening is, "Called, Prepared, Sent,” and our inspiration verse is, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16 NRSV
While the virtual General Assembly will still be held as scheduled and in its entirety, the in-person regional gathering of CBF Alabama, CBF Florida, and CBF Georgia will not take place on Thursday, August 26, through Friday, August 27.
Our deep hope is that we will be able to provide some experiences in the very near future that would allow for CBF supporters and congregations from our various states to gather across state lines to build friendships, strengthen relationships, and encourage one another in our faith. Be on the lookout for these opportunities soon.
For now, there are a few of things you should do: (1) If you made hotel reservations . . . (To continue reading, click on image).
Today, churches are faced with a new challenge as they consider how to engage a split congregation—at home and online. This course is designed to help you discern what it means for your church to become a “hybrid” church and how to build the bridge between what you’re doing now and what you will do in the future.
