Hope in a time of Despair

"If we care about bibilical injustice, or even if we merely empathize with the unjust suffering of marginalized people, it is easy to feel discouraged - even despairing. If we care about the unity of the church and healthy democracy, the enormous divides in our society also can lead to depression and..."

The Past, Present, and Future of Giving

The Past, Present, and Future of Giving

There are five generations worshiping in our churches right now. Three were born before the internet existed and two are digital natives. They all think about, spend, and give money in incredibly different ways. We’re also on the cusp of seeing the largest transfer of wealth in human history—$18 billion from Boomers to Millennials over the next few decades. This three-part course is designed to help churches plan for the future by better understanding how and why each of these generations gives. It will teach you how to communicate about giving and generosity more effectively, and spur creative thinking around the giving tools we make available to them.

Dr. Martin Luther King, The Dream Turned Nightmare How Churches Can Discover and Lead the Way from Chaos to Community

Many Americans revere Dr. King for his famous "I Have a Dream" speech delivered in 1963. Dr. King had a dream, but what many do not know is that he confessed that his dream became a nightmare. Since America, including its churches, accepted the caricature of King as a dreamer, instead of interrogating the forces that killed his dream, our nation has pursued the path of chaos that currently engulfs this nation, affecting even our churches.

CBF/GA & CBF Regional Gathering

While the virtual General Assembly will still be held as scheduled and in its entirety, the in-person regional gathering of CBF Alabama, CBF Florida, and CBF Georgia will not take place on Thursday, August 26, through Friday, August 27.

Our deep hope is that we will be able to provide some experiences in the very near future that would allow for CBF supporters and congregations from our various states to gather across state lines to build friendships, strengthen relationships, and encourage one another in our faith. Be on the lookout for these opportunities soon.

For now, there are a few of things you should do: (1) If you made hotel reservations . . . (To continue reading, click on image).
